222 illegal immigrants arrived in the Italian Island of Lampeduza

Italian media sources reported Wednesday that 222 illegal immigrants landed Lampeduza Island, during the last hours, indicating that this illegal “invasion” came just one day after the tragedy of 300 illegal immigrants who sank off the Libyan cost, adding that 29 women arrived on this journey, including three pregnant women and eight children.  

• According to the same sources, the last few days noticed new illegal immigrants who came from several African countries, including Algeria.
• On the other hand, the Italian popular “Republic” newspaper spoke about a new rebellion inside the provisional detention centre in Lambadoza Island, by a group of illegal immigrants who tried to escape outside and entered into altercations with the police, while others succeeded in escaping from the gendarmerie pursuit and entered the centre of Lambadoza.
• The same source reported that five illegal immigrants were arrested and red-handed in a robbery and assault on uninhabited houses and were braught Wednesday before the General Attorney, who ordered for placing them in provisional prison in the west Cape of the island.
•  Previously, about 720 illegal immigrants, inside the detention, tried to protests against the bad conditions there because of the lack of sanitary and human conditions as well overcrowding inside the jails.
