25 Algerian prisoners benefit from Al Gaddafi’s amnesty

Algerian prisoners’s families organization in Libya revealed the release of 25 Algerian prisoners by the Colonel Mammar Al Gaddafi, most of them passed their jail sentence, under the amnesty which was issued by the Libyan leader on the anniversary of the 1st September revolution.

The organization’s letter addressed to the president reported that, the Algerian prisoners in Libya decided to enter in an open food strike, begining by today, to protest against the list which includes 22 prisoners whose prison period had finished.

The same sources added that those who enjoyed amnesty last March, have been excluded from this list and their status is still outstanding until today.

President of the Algerian prisoners organization said that the three prisoners who benefited from this amnesty are encluded within the list of 58 prisoners.

According to the same source, available at Echrouk, the Algerian Embassy in Tripoli, the organization considered – according to the letter’s text- “ that the Libyan authorities eluded and changed the names”.

The organization called on the Algerian president to intervene, in order to put an end to the Algerian prisoners who are suffering in the prison.
