Everyday over 30% of fruits and vegetables, which entered the wholesale market, are thrown in the waste, due to the lack of sufficient number of retail markets, which can absorb the large quantities of agricultural products, at a time their prices reached record levels.

The absence of application of the new instruction by government, about the passage of all the vegetables and fruits through the wholesale markets, including the imported goods, contributed in the state of anarchy in these markets, as well as the lack of price stability which have increased significantly during the past few years.

The Union of Traders, expected in a press conference Wednesday, the prices would notably rise during the first week of Ramadan, because of the high demand by citizens to acquire all what is presented in the markets and shops during this month, thing which require consumers to avoid luxury and buy only what is necessary for them, until the restoration of market balance.

The same union warned of the continuing rise of red and white meats’ prices, because of the high cost of feed prices, expecting that it would pass through Aid Al Adha ( religious feast).
