300 cases of Algerian-French mixed marriages within 6 months

The French General Consulate in Algeria has recorded over the past 6 months a total of 3.000 cases of Algerian-French mixed marriages bringing the overall number to 18 thousand since the year 2010.

In other figures, issued by the French Consulate, over 800 Algerians have secured the French nationality outside these mixed marriages within the first semester of the year 2013.

The same sources told Echorouk that the number of mixed marriages reached over 8.000 during the year 2011 while in the following year, a total of 8.500 such cases were registered, bringing the total number to 18 thousand within the last 3 year period.

They added that only 40 relevant files linked to such mixed marriages had been turned down by the French General Consulate owing to their inconsistency or lack of eligibility on the part of the applicants.

The relevant French authorities however pledged to take further measures to facilitate and speed up the processing of the files related to the requests for a mixed marriage made by Algerian nationals on condition that the necessary conditions and criteria are fulfilled, according to the same sources.
