Six adolescents from Annaba, east of Algeria, aged between 15 and 17 years make the event, Sunday night, after they had been rescued by members of the coast guards.

• The six adolescents were among a group of 33 young illegal immigrants, who were on board of a rubber boat on their way towards the coats of the Italian Sardinia, after they had paid amounts ranging between 20.000 and 100.000 dianrs, as they stated in the hearing sessions at the headquarters of the naval base.
• Head of the major marine station of the border guards, Abdelaziz Zeidi, said during a press conference at the headquarters of the regional group of the Coast Guards; “The group of illegal immigrants has been rescued from sinking at about 6 miles north of Ras El Hamra in Annaba, because of the volatility of the weather in the sea, and the fragility of their boat”.
• “ The 33 illegal immigrants who are aged between 15 and 32 years, 24 of them come from the various districts of Annaba including six minors, and six others from Skikda, east of Algeria, as well as two from Bejaia, and one from Tebessa, also east of Algeria. They said they have paid amounts of money ranging between 2 and 10 million centimes in agreement with one of the clandestine immigration organizers”.
• This is the first process of the kind since nearly two months, following a significant decline of the phenomenon, due to strict control by the security authorities, both at the coasts or through chasing the barons of the clandestine immigration and illegal immigrants in their secret places.
• Previously, the local gendarmerie of Annaba arrested, in the recent two operations, five organizers of the clandestine immigration in Ain Barbare and 12 illegal immigrants from Algiers in the forest of Boukentas, in the mountains of Aidough.
