3400 kg of Moroccan Cannabis seized south of Algeria
Algerian National Gendarmerie and border guards of Bechar locality, south of Algeria, foiled an attempt to smuggle 34 kg of drugs Thursday. The grugs were hidden in a car coming from Morocco.

Borders’ guards and gendarmes monitored eight Toyota Station cars in Ben Tadjin Mountain, 70 km south of Tibelbala. The drivers tried to escape and gendarmes started shooting but only one car stopped. They seized 486 kg of drug.

Border guards seized Thursday evening three cars loaded with 300 kg of drugs at about 45km North West of the check point in Bechar locality, south of Algeria.

The security forces also seized in other areas about 12 tons of drugs. It appears that drug smuggling networks has changed it route to Becher from of Tlemcen, west of Algeria.

Thanks to strict control by the borders guards and the use of modern devices, as well as cooperation between customs and gendarmerie, the figures of smuggling drugs operations lowered.
