350 Thousand Algerians Shirked National Service: Defense Ministry report
According to statistics issued of late by the Directorate of the Military Service at the National Defense Ministry, over 350 thousand young Algerians have so far not straightened out their situation vis à vis their bounden National Service owing to manifold reasons.
In this connection, all the public administrative bodies across the country started on Monday implementing recent guidelines issued by Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, whereby the once compulsory document testifying to the job applicants’ situation vis à vis the Military Service should be scrapped until further notice.
The Prime Minister’s decision is designed to remove bureaucratic hurdles by allowing young Algerians to secure job opportunities without being stymied by the compulsory presentation of the document related to the Military Service, formerly required by the public administration at all leve
This will allow the job seekers to sit for pre-job contests pending the straightening out of their Military Service situation for good, as it was officially announced that a total of 60 thousand job opportunities were available currently within the services of the National Police and Gendarmerie as well as within the customs and the Civil Protection
