3G spread map across Algerian cities

Authority of the Post and Telecommunications allowed freedom to choose the second constellation of the concerned Wilayas to cover services for third-generation mobile phone which is divided to four categories, while the book of conditions the exclusivity of publishing service for a year in a number of cities to the operator of the first rank in the tender, as the period of spread across the entire Wilayas is 8 years.

Sources from the same authority told Echorouk that the map the third generation’s spread across the Wilayas of the country has been divided in three phases, the first phase will be launched next December across four model cities, which are Algiers, Oran, Constantine and Ouargla.

Book of conditions granted Mobilis operator, which got the first rank in the tender, the freedom to choose 19 cities to spread the service across it, as some cities will be exclusive for the operator which is the winner of the first prize for a year, while the country’s Wilayas were divided to four categories, the first representing four typical cities that are concerned with the launch of the third generation in the first year, which are Algiers, Oran, Constantine and Ouargla, which is a class “C- 1”, while the second class, which has been termed as “C- 2”, the spread of the service in its scope from the second and third year, as the Department was divided to two sections “C2b” and ” C3b”, which includes six cities, which are Boumerdès , Tizi Ouzou, Annaba, Sétif, Tlemcen and Blida, while the second includes Batna, Béjaia, Jijel, Mila, Skikda, Tipasa, Chlef, Mostaghanem, Mascara, M’sila and Bordj Bou Arrérij.

Third category includes all the Wilayas which are ranked in the “C3”, which are Biskra, El Oued, Djelfa, Laghouat, Adrar, Tamanrasset, Bechar, Illizi, Bayed, Tindouf, Naama, and Ghardaia south, and Oum el Bouaki, Souk Ahras, Tébéssa El Tarf, Khenchla, eastern Algeria, and Bouira, Medea, and Ain Defla, central Algeria, and cities of Tiaret, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tissemsilet, Ain Témouchent, Relizane, western Algeria.
