3G technology will change lifestyle in Algeria

Algeria will launch 3G mobile phone technology officially in December amid expectations that Algerians’ lifestyle would completely change as the country will become a small village linked by the Internet through mobile phone lines.

The 3G technology will enable people to conduct all the banking and administrative procedures and watch all TV channels on the phone.
Users will be able to see their families and friends online during the communication and to transfer personal and professional information through their phones.
Press attaché at Algeria’s Mobilis mobile phone operator Mohamed Saleh Daas told Echorouk on Thursday the 3G technology will enable subscribers to get Algerian applications through the phone which will ease their daily life such us shopping, data transfer, download music, images and exchange e-mails at the same time.
Driving with GPRS system for the first time in Algeria The 3G technology will also enable drivers to use GPRS system. They will be able to know the address of all hospitals, factories, enterprises and hotels through the phone. A touristic and economic guide will be provided on the phone for tourists.

Video lectures on phone for students

The 3G technology will enable students to watch lectures online through their cell phones.
“The 3G technology will spread video lectures in universities and economic enterprises which will be able to hold video meetings with all their subsidies,” said Daas.

3G technology prices will be affordable

The press attaché said Mobilis which won the 3G technology tender promises people to offer its services at affordable prices in accordance to required applications and subscription duration.
“Subscribers can choose the service and the price that fits their purchasing power. The 3G technology will be launched in December in four major provinces: Oran, Constantine, Ouargula and Algiers. A year later, it will be generalized to 19 provinces and before 7 years it will be present in all over Algeria.”
