4.5 million Algerians to benefit from the new Housing Strategy
Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Abdelmadjid Teboune, launched the first Algerian-Italian mixed company, which is specializes in the production of construction materials with the technology of thermalinsulation, using polystyrene single and double moulded, or multiple that allow Algeria for the first time to complete constructions and modern houses which could resist earthquakes, using the technology ofcombining polystyrene and threaded chains and iron.
Abdelmadjid Tebboune said during his supervision of launching the factory at the area of activity in Harrash (Algiers), that this technology is one of the ways that are less expensive and fastest for the building, adding that this technique is adopted in European countries and the United States and Canada, and allows to reduce the time of housing delivery to less than a half compared to the traditional materials for achievement, as well as ensuring high security of public facilities, including hospitals, business departments, offices, schools and shopping centers, houses and universities, in addition to its very high economy of energy which is used in air conditioning, which reaches up to 40%.
“This technology will allow the completion of houses under every climatic conditions, especially in the desert areas thanks to the system of good insulation, which is provided by this technology. This technique allows the completion of facilities with very upscale technical standards for establishments and buildings, that could rise up to 6 floors, and cost cheaper and faster, whether it comes to residential projects or tourist vehicles or high-end apartments and villas”.
“Algeria can not build one million housing in one year, using the traditional methods alone. The Algerian-Italian mixed company for hybrid buildings, was founded according to the rule 51/49, and will be completed by the first-line of materials needed to complete the 2000 housing units in the central region, so as to raise the productive capacity of the company to 4000 units per year, after opening factories in Oran and Annaba, with plans to open factories in the high plateaus and the south, directed to the completion of construction materials with such technology”, he added.
The company’s experts assert that the technology of thermal insulation allows economically the reduction of energy consumption, which is used for heating and air conditioning, as thermal insulation also works
with polystyrene to secure conditions of warming and climate health of the population in houses, throughout the seasons of the year, as well as to prevent condensation on the internal surfaces of the building,
especially in cold regions, and that when using a heating which contributes to avoid damage that is caused by humidity, which is the first enemy of the buildings.
