4.6 magnitude earthquake hits Algeria
A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the province of Ain Defla (150 km west of Algiers) on Saturday, according to Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics (CRAAG).

The epicenter of the quake was located 16 km northwest Ain Defla, CRAAG said in a statement.

“It is a weak magnitude earthquake which has caused neither victims nor material casualties,” Djellit Haoum, an executive at CRAAG told the AFP.

Earlier on January 11, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake hit the area of Larbaa (40 km south of Algiers).

The epicentre of Saturday’s quake was located 3 km southwest of Larbaa.
