400 French companies create 35,000 new jobs in Algeria, says ambassador
More than 400 French companies invest in Algeria creating more than 35,000 new jobs, French ambassador to Algeria said on Monday.

Algerian French relations are very exceptional and they witness a considerable development in various fields especially after Sarkozy’s official visit to the country, the ambassador told reporters in Tebessa (east of Algiers).

“Algeria is France’s second market in the world after China,” he added.

Ambassador Xavier Drancourt said his country is looking for new sites in Algeria to extend its investments ahead of a meeting of businessmen due to be held in November.

He added that a large number of visas are offered following an agreement signed by Algeria and France to ease move for people from both countries.
