4,250 billion centimes squandered on Algeria East-West Motorway gas stations
More than 4,250 billion centimes were squandered on the construction of 17gas stations on Algeria’s East-West Motorway, according to investigations.
Sources say security forces received information about overstated invoices related to the construction of the gas stations.
Investigations showed that the project value mentioned in the official contract is 150 billion centimes but it was overstated to reach 500 billion centimes.
The allocated sum for the ground of one single station was estimated at 70 billion centimes while the real price did not exceed 13 billion centimes. Water storages cisterns were built at more than 2 billion
centimes for each gas station while the real price was 200 million centimes.
According to the same sources, security forces relied on a detailed report prepared by experts from audit department at Naftal. It showed a series of wrongdoings in the conclusion of tens of deals by mutual
agreement.
