500 Egyptians receive salaries by the Arab League budget funded by Algeria and Middle East countries

Little information on the financing of the Arab League and the future of its budget show that it is only a source of money for the Egyptians working at its headquarters as employees, including the gatekeepers, guards and General Secretary.

  • In light of the absence of accurate figures about the value of contribution of each Arab country, Echorouk sources said Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Algeria are the largest contributors of its administration, as thousands of dollars represent salaries and privileges of Egyptians working in this body.
  • 500 Egyptian workers in the Arab League pay their transport and receive salaries from its budget, as Egypt is the weakest contributor while Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the largest contributors.
  • Envoys of the Arab League to Europe, America and Asia get the largest salaries, as they are considered as ambassadors, from the budget that costs huge amounts of money given by Middle Eastern countries and Algeria.
