60 percent of Algeria markets are informal

Some 60 percent of Algerian business is done in the black market which counts 1.5 million illegal sellers, secretary general of traders and craftsmen’ s union said.

• “Algeria looses 25 billion DZ per year due to the phenomenon of the informal market,” Maâmar Hantour told reporters on Saturday.

• He also said 50 percent of fake commodities in Algeria come from china while the capital Algiers and the provinces of Tlemcen and Oran are the most touched by them.

• Most of the commodities are perfumes, cosmetics and spare parts.
