63 individuals took part in attack against Algerian president Bouteflika

A year passed to the terrorist attack carried out by a suicide bomber in Batna province (east of Algiers) targeting the Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika leaving 25 dead and 173 wounded.

The operation revealed that the terrorist organization “the Salafit Group for call and combat” led by “Droudkel” was behind this act and prompted the president’s reaction blaming some western capital of taking advantage of terrorism in Algeria.

Soon after the attack security forces intercepted telephone conversations between three terrorists in which one said to another” the operation failed and we have to move to the mountain”.

Following this conversation, a whole network comprising 11individuals has been arrested to proceed to the reconstitution of the facts.

The terrorists revealed that two days before the presidential visit to Batna, the leader of the “death’s squad” contacted Z. Walid asking him to recruit young people to carry out a major attack but this one refused, forcing the leader recruited someone to carry out a terrorist attack against the president few hours before the official visit.

Investigations revealed that the terrorist attack was conducted by 63 individuals including 51 terrorists including leaders within the terrorist organization.
