Terror attacks caimed thousands of lives in Algeria.

A total of 64,000 people have lost their arms or legs since terrorism broke out in Algeria, according to medical sources.

  • More than 3,000 of the victims have been sent abroad for medical treatment, said the same sources.
  • Terrorism has affected Algeria since the 1990’s taking thousands of lives. A series of violent acts were conducted against civilians and security forces.
  • Material losses are estimated at $20 billion.

  • Abdelhek, 32, used to be a self-defence agent during the years of terror. He lost his two legs following a terror mine blast.
  • Farouk says he lost his feet when he walked on a mine in a farm.
  • “I felt as if my whole body blew up,” he said.
  • Ismahane lost her leg in a terrorist attack on a police station in 1995 when she was on her way to college on a bus school.
