800 youngsters in Algiers work in coordination with security services to stop riots: 110 youngsters arrested, 320 security men wounded and 26 police stations destroyed

Dozens of Algerian citizens shift from rioters to protectors and defenders of private and public properties on Saturday morning, as over 800 youths in the town of Bordj Albahri “Pins Maritimes” and Ain Taya (Algiers) changed the course of demonstrations and protests that erupted in various municipalities and districts which targeted the various headquarters and centers to an intifada to prevent thieves and criminals from exploiting the popular anger which pushes the streets to deviation.

 This occurs at a time the number of detainees, by various security forces, increased, since the starting of protests in Algiers, to 110 people.

 

Police forces arrested 75 persons and gendarmerie 35 people, while the total number of wounded who were taken quickly to various hospitals is 300, many of them suffer dangerous injuries, at a time, two died, a youngsters 18 in Ain El Hadjal, Msila, east of Algiers, and another 32 in Bousmail, Tipaza, west of Algiers.

 

Number of injuries among police officers in Algiers also rises, according to the General Directorate of National Security, to 100 policemen who suffer serious wounds, one of them at the level of eyes and another one is suffering dangerous complications in Zeralda hospital.

 

The Interior Minister Dahou Weld Kablya said Saturday that the number of injuries among security men reached 320.

 

Acts of vandalism and riots destroyed 15 police stations in Algiers after being burned and thrown by stones, such as the police station of “la Concorde” in the municipality of Bir Mourad Rais, prompting the General Director of the National Security, Abdelghani Hamel, according to Echorouk sources, to move on Saturday to the places of events in order to inspect the situation and stand at many police stations that were damaged. He has instructed all police units in Algeria to maintain on the safety of citizens and avoid any material and human losses.

 

On the other hand, 11 check points and regional battalions of gendarmerie were subject to destruction, like what happened in Hamiz (Algiers) where the check point and cars of the gendarmes were completely damaged.
