Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal accepted to grant 80,000 additional houses to the AADL-related projects upon a request from the housing minister Abdelmadjid Teboune.

Cabinet is expected to examine the issue on Wednesday, Echorouk has learnt.

The huge number of applicants for AADL houses was behind Teboune’s request. The total number of the houses will reach 230,000. They are supposed to be launched before the end of the year.

Sources say applicants can check their applications and know whether they were accepted or not. They have a registration number and a password on AADL’s official website.

The AADL took measures to prevent any attempt to counterfeit documents or to benefit from the houses in an illegal way.

At 5 pm on Tuesday, the number of applicants reached 262,000 while some of them had applied for more than one time. The real number of applications was 179,000 including 78,359 in Algiers.

Recent figures show that single applicants were estimated at 73,585, married 100,322, widows 978, women 46,003, men 133,758 and divorced 4,876.

Sellal gave instructions to the Algiers Prefect to ease all the procedures for the housing ministry to get necessary lands for the houses construction.
