The government favored the granting of licenses’ activity for foreign airline companies instead of opening the airspace for the private investment, because the general climate is not ready for the time being, as it approved in a matter of a week, the license for Three European companies, which are Swissair “Air Suisse”, that launched its first flight on Saturday, the French “Transavia” which will launch its flights on July,14, and the Irish “Ryanair”.

The government distributed, in a matter of a week, three licenses to foreign companies, including Swiss company “Swissair” which left the Algerian market 20 years ago, and the company “Transavia”, a branch of Air France, competent in the field of low flights’ price, in addition to the company “Ryanair ” which belongs to the Irish Airlines, and which in turn will organize flights in between Wilayas, as this comes at a time the government still insists on not to open the field for private investment in the aviation sector in Algeria.
It launched yesterday Ambassador and the Swiss Ambassador of Algeria, Switzerland, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport first flight between Algiers and Geneva over the line “Swissair” Houari Boumediene Airport, a company that decided to return to Algeria after an absence of 20 years, where already left the latter the Algerian market due to what it called the lack of security during the black decade.
Transavia will begin its activity in Algeria by the beginning of July 14, as the Algerian authorities agreed to open flights between the French city of Lyon and Algiers at low prices, especially since these companies are specialized in the “cheap” flights, which will reduce the pressure on the company on Air Algerie, that despite the support of its fleet, but it was recently supported with two “Airbus” planes, awaiting the arrival of the rest of the companies to open new lines, but it is still facing a shortfall in flights, as the French company “Transavia” will organize a twice-weeklies flights to Lyon Airport,  from Houari Boumediene International Airport.
For its part, the company “Ryanair” will enter the activity in Algeria, by the beginning of July and will be specialized in the field of flights between Wilayas with low-cost prices, a proposal that has been discussed with the Algerian authorities, especially since the latter is known for providing the best offers with competitive prices, and rely on “Boeing” planes, and will also contribute to reducing the deficit in the field of flights that are linking Algeria with Europe, in the forefront of flights that link between Algeria and France, where there dare more than 5 million Algerians who mostly prefer to visit Algeria during the summer season and Ramadan.
