Khalifa’s health is good and will appear in court as witness and suspect, says lawyer

Lawyers of the century scandal’s main suspect Abdelmoumene Khalifa said the latter who is jailed in Blida will appear in court on May 4th as a witness and suspect at the same time.

“Some people exploit the case in a horrible way although the trial has not started yet,” lawyer Nacerddedine Lazaar told Echorouk.

Khalifa is involved in two cases. The first one is related to Khalifa Bank’s main treasury while the other one is an individual case.

“As I respect public legal authorities’ sovereignty, I will not give any information about those cases,” he told Echorouk.

This comes as a large debate was raised about joining the two cases. Some lawyers welcomed the idea as it would make the court’s mission easier.

Others were against that as the two cases legal process is different.

According to the same sources, the case may be postponed as not all the notifications arrived to concerned people including suspects and witnesses.
