2.100.000 Houses Completed since 2000, Housing Minister says
Large housing projects scheduled during the current Five-Year Plan will be a tough challenge, because only 346 companies at the national level have certifications from 5 to 9 degrees, while 200 to 400 projects are done by companies which do not have the high technology qualifications, causing the delay of the one million housing program, the Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Noureddine Moussa said.
On the sidelines of his visit to Tipaza (68 km west of Algiers), the minister attributed the cause of project’s delay in some wilayas to the institutions which noticed a lack of a crew that has qualified labor; ” This is an international problem, through the suffering of the Arab states of the same concern that forced these countries to import foreign labor, however, and despite these inhibitors, Algeria was able to achieve an advanced rate of one million unit project, with the completion of 2 million and one thousand houses since 2000, and 204 thousand houses in 2011.
On the other hand, the Minister asserted that the reason behind not launching the projects in some wilayas is the complicated procedures in the law of deals, which takes much time before the start of the project, in addition to the problem of real estates that takes years of study under the guidance of urban plans.
