Bouteflika inaugurates “century project” of water transfer in Tamenrasset

President Abdelaziz Boutelika has conducted on Tuesday a work visit to Tamenrasset province, (southern the country, where he has put into service a-750 km water pipeline which is to carry drinking water from In Salah to taps of Tamenrasset populations.

• The state has invested 3 billion US dollars to build up this giant project, of which works started in January 2008.
• President Bouteflika has also inaugurated a new neighbourhood composed of 1028 flats, together with several other necessary facilities.
• Bouteflika has further put into traffic a 420 km section linking Tamenrasset to In Guezzam, part of the Trans Saharan highway project.
•  “The water pipeline project is going to be the key element in the development of the Ahaggar locality, APS has quoted senior notable of Ahaggar, Idabir Ahmed as saying. The Tuareg elder further added “the century project” of drinking water transfer is “a dream which has come true.”
• To recall, Bouteflika has arrived on Tuesday morning to Tamenrasset Airport in a one-day work visit. He was reserved a warm welcome by the populations of Tamenrasset.
