Hundreds of employees at the Department of Transport Services protest in Algiers
Algiers-Hundreds of employees at the Department of Transport Services from 38 states organize a sit-in here on Monday out of the Ministry f Transport headquarters for professional demands.
The National Council for the Transport Sector’s Technical Branch initiated the protests under the banner of the National Independent Association of public administration’s users.
A movement member Tarek Dhini said that the protesters ask government to involve their organization in the process of preparation of the Basic Law in this professional sector and recognition of this branch belonging to the National Independent Union of Public Administration’s users as a representative of 270 employees in the sector and ask the recognition of their diplomas by the Ministry of Higher Education after a pro-Baccalaureate four years of study.
The last point of demands denounced what is stated in new law, under negotiations between the Ministry of Transport and public service, because it limits their works only as agents of implementation.
Protesters who organize the sit-in here on Monday met with the Minister of Transport Amar Tou who promised to take into account their demands.
