Carpet Fair 2011 starts in Ghardaia

Over 6,000 people visited the exhibition of the carpet, opened last Saturday on the occasion of the celebration of the 44th edition of the carpet festival in Ghardaia (South of Algeria), the organizers said.

 This exhibition and sale of handicrafts, which ended Thursday, has attracted a large audience in search of handicrafts, especially the carpet and other jewelry from different regions of the country.

 Encouraged by the school holidays and the spring weather that has broken out in Ghardaia, many families of different provinces on vacation in the region have seized the opportunity to visit the exhibition which brought together 200 exhibitors from thirty provinces, featuring a dozen craft activities, organizers report.
