A record book for religious properties in Algeria
More than 70 percent of religious properties in Algeria are still unidentified while the government will make a record book for mosques and religious properties before the end of 2009, religious properties director said Tuesday.

“The identified religious properties in Algeria represent only 30 percent of the total property. Some 5.000 of them were recovered in 1998-2006,” said Belkacem Boukherouata in a seminar in Algiers.

He also revealed a projected national record book for the 15.000 mosques and the identified religious properties in the country.

According to Boukherouata, the project will help to create a special institution to manage religious properties already announced by Religious Affairs Minister Abdellah Ghoulamallah.
