Services of the Wilaya of Algiers refused to allow the G-14 to hold a meeting at Safir Hotel, which was allocated to announce the categorical rejection of the amendment to the Constitution before the Presidential Elections, as members of the group described the situation as dangerous, and that it is part of the restrictions on freedoms.

G-14 members called upon the opposition parties to fight and unify their positions on the amendment of the constitution and the presidential elections, “because the country is noticing a great danger.”

Leaders of the parties to defend the national memory and sovereignty were obliged to activate a press conference at the entrance of the hotel, and called for the political class to unify their positions on the forthcoming elections, and agreed to describe the situation as alarming, as the head of the Movement of Society for Peace, Abderrazak Makri, said that what happened is only as simple episode among many abuses, and the deviation in democracy; “I call upon the opposition parties to unite positions towards the Presidential Elections, because the country is living a great danger, and we need a national leap”.
