Abderrazak Mokri relates horrendous and ill-fated Israeli raid on Gaza-bound humanitarian flotilla

The head of the Algerian delegation which took part in the humanitarian flotilla of freedom bound for besieged Gaza, Abderrazak Mokri, relates how 5 Algerian women and 27 Algerian men including 2 Algerian students aged just 23 have bravely withstood the heinous Israeli Army's assault on their ship in international waters off the coast of Gaza.  

• During the assault, the Algerians on board the ship showed a lot of courage and firm determination and hurled bottles at the heavily-armed Israeli troops while shouting in unison “Allah Akbar” (God is the Greatest), Abderrazak Mokri said.

• The head of the Algerian delegation indicated that the cowardly Israeli soldiers responded with a hail of live bullets to the bottle and chair-throwing.

•  Several Algerians were slightly wounded in this barrage of fire including Algerian MP Douibi who sustained an eye injury.

• The latter is still in a Jordanian hospital for intensive treatment, he added.

• Abderrazak Mokri affirmed that the Algerian on board the humanitarian flotilla had demonstrated a great courage and did all they could to prevent the heavily-armed Israeli soldiers from storming their boat.

• He said that the callous Israeli troops had used tear gas, rubber and also live bullets during the assault on the humanitarian flotilla of freedom in total defiance of all international laws and regulations.

• He also said that the barbarous Israeli troops had held them in detention for over 36 hours without giving them any food and without allowing them for 10 hours to go to the toilets.

• Mokri further indicated that the Israeli troops had later subjected them to a long and harsh questioning, brutally roughed them up and hurled at them humiliating insults in Arabic, Hebrew and English throughout their arbitrary and illegal detention in the occupied Palestinian territories.
