“Renault†to produce 150.000 cars annually east of Algeria
Sources linked to the file of the French car company “Renault†told Echorouk it agreed with the Algerian government to raise the number of cars to be produced in Algeria to 150.000 units annually with a 50% rate of local integration as a first phase of the project.
Same sources added, on the sidelines of the economic tripartite, that the French company requested an area of 150 hectares for the project, prompting the government to change the place from industrial zone of Rouiba to Belara industrial zone in Jijel (east of Algeria), near Djendjen Port, considered the largest in Algeria, and which was allocated since 2009 for receiving cars imported from abroad.
