Africa World Cup 2010 qualifiers: Senegal brace for Algeria confrontation

The national football squad of Senegal is slated to play an international friendly game between the 17th and 25th of next May in Dakar ahead of the official match versus the Algeria line's up as part of the qualifiers of the combined 2010 Africa/World cup competition.

Sources close to the Senegalese football federation say that the planned friendly in Dakar will oppose Senegal and a still unnamed African national squad.

 However, the Senegalese national coach Liamine Diyai said he preferred to play either Morocco or Tunisia whose footballing style, he said, resembles greatly that of the Algerian players.

He also expressed the wish to monitor closely on a video cassette the recent Algeria / DR Congo friendly match played in Paris , so as to gauge beforehand the technical and tactical potentialities of the Algerian national squad in expectation of the upcoming crucial Dakar qualifier versus Algeria .
