After being accused of belonging to a terrorist group, Algerian returned from Britain and got release

The court declared Thursday the Algerian “ K.Ismail” living in Britain and having the British nationality, not guilty after he was followed by justice on charges of belonging to a terrorist group active in Bab Elouad in Algiers during the nineties.

 

  • The case of “K.Ismail” 35 from Algiers, began with the suspension of the elections in the nineties, after the security services arrested the so called “B.Mohamed” on November 25, 1997, he recognised that he is one of the terrorists in a terrorist group in Algiers, and that after the suspension of the electoral process he met with terrorists in Al Fath mosque, where they ordered him to suspend inflammatory leaflets, then he accompanied them to the mountains of Akfadou in Bejaia, east of Algiers, where he met many terrorists, including “K.Ismail” who was in charge of providing the terrorist groups with clothing because he was a merchant.

  • Security services arrested “K.Ismail” and “B.Mohamed”, who denied all these facts when the investigating judge, confirming that they have been subjected to pressure. They are in temporary detention before being transferred to the criminal court, however, “K” benefited from the provisional release and left Algeria without a trial, that’s  why the criminal court of Algiers sentenced him to 20 years in absentia, while “B.Mohamed” complied to the court and was declared not guilty.

  • During the last Ramadan “K.Ismail” returned back to Algeria along with his Polish wife and daughter, and he was arrested and jailed, then trialled on Thursday, as the general attorney sought him five years prison, and the criminal court of Algiers declared him not guilty after the deliberations.
