Agriculture and Rural Development Minister: ''We do not offer jobs for jobless''

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, talked in this interview with the “Echorouk” on the sidelines of his visit to El Oued city, about the problem of unemployment in the southern states and in El Oued in particular.
”Our services are not distributing jobs on jobless, but youth of the South should integrate in this new dynamic of the farming sector in the south, investment and job creation, in the presence of facilities for the settlement of the real estate farming, and youth empowerment of the formulas available. Price of white meat will remain low in the range of the current prices current during the month of Ramadan”, he added.
*Is this visit comes in the framework of appeasement measures taken by the government recently to absorb the anger of jobless youth?
**The Issue raised in the farming sector in reverse, and today El Oued city will rank first nationally in agricultural production, and 67 percent of the labor force that is active there operates in the farming sector, and the land is available and water as well. This a development movement, and I should say that we’re not going to pursue a policy of distributing the number of jobs for jobless youth, but our policy is based on the involvement of young people in raising a challenge, which is a national food security through agricultural sector.
*Is there any special will for the youth of the region to invest in the farming sector?
*All actions that were taken in the farming sector are open to young people, as well as those actions taken by other sectors, and results are concrete in what the farming sector in the south achieved, especially the cities of El Oued and Biskra, a dynamic in the way ofdevelopment and this is not a prosthesis policy, that we do because the agriculture sector has its privacy, and not everyone can be afarmer, but working with deep objectives and work on youth to be oriented for the agricultural sector, and associated services to benefit from the jobs they provide, and steer their perception of national needs to cover export to abroad.
*The file of agricultural real estate was strongly posed in the region, which was an obstacle to agricultural investment, how will you settledthis file?
** Politically, legally and organizationally , the problem has been resolved, and of course the file requires a period to be realised on the ground, and the services of the Interior Ministry, and services finance and agriculture, want to increase the dynamic of settlement and reaching to secure farmers who are in a state of activity, through providing facilities to get the necessary agricultural estate for young peopleand investors in the agricultural sector, although there are some obstacles at the local level.
*Does the food security policy become nowadays oriented for the south?
**To achieve food security we are required to use all means in the north and the south, and today southern Algeria contributes with 18 percent in the total national agricultural production, and according to the studies that we’ve made, the south can contribute to it by 30 percent, and this is possible in the future and we are working on it.
