Ahmed Choubeir: “I was threatened by the twin’s supporters”

Ahmed Choubir, Egyptian sport voice and former goal keeper of the Egyptian national team, told Echorouk that he was sorry for the behaviour of Ibrahim Hassan in Bejaia     

• * How would explain, as a former international player, the behaviour of the twin Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan?
• “It is strange, but still we would expect such a behaviour from a nervous person like Ibrahim Hassan, He has no experience as a coach. He ruined his history and popularity with such a behaviour”.
• -Is it true that you were threatened by the twin’s supporters, accusing you of conspiracy with the Egyptian football authorities in order to tighten sanctions against Hassan?
•  “Yes, I was. But, I don’t care. I keep saying the truth. Ibrahim Hassan was wrong as he offended Algeria supporters. There is no conspiracy with the Egyptian authorities, I’m no more working in the Egyptian football association. Members of the EFA are responsible for any decision”.
• -What about Beloumi’s case, we heard there are developments?
• “Lakhdar Beloumi is my friend and I respect him because he loves Egyptians. I’m sorry that his case has not yet been resolved, even though we called the Egyptian the victim, and suggested to him compensation, but he exaggerated and asked for more money, that’s why we were obliged to close the file. I hope Beloumi could visit Egypt without any judicial problems”.
• -Algeria and Egypt are in the same group, and they will meet, what are your expectations?
• “Honestly, if either Egypt or Algeria will qualify I would be the happiest man. My positions reflect my respect to Algerian”.
