Ahmed Gaid Salah: “The Strength Of Our Work Is The High Mutual Trust Between The People And Their Army”

 Army Corps General, Ahmed Gaïd Salah, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP), said Thursday in Tamanrasset (southern Algeria) that identifying sources of threats is one of the “essential factors for success” in acquiring the ability to adapt permanently with these threats and in carefully designing methods to neutralize them.

“You, as managers and leaders at all levels of military command, must work to be fully aware that the ability to identify sources of threat, to trace their origins and to identify the factors of their development and modes of action, are among the essential factors for success in acquiring the capacity for continuous adaptation to these threats and in the judicious design of methods to neutralize them and defeat their nefarious objectives”, underlined the Lieutenant General, in a keynote speech before the Region’s staffs, Operational Sector Commanders and their staffs, Chiefs of Security Services, Unit Commanders and Regional Directors, on the occasion of his third day of a working visit of inspection to the 6th Military Region.

“There is no doubt that opening the doors of repentance to those who have gone astray from the right path, and have made the decision to go to the ANP at the level of the 6th Military Region as in all other military Regions, represents a new opportunity for these repentant people to give a chance to those who have come to their senses, decided to return to the fold of their society and their homeland, and were convinced, on the ground, that it is useless to deviate from the path of their homeland which will remain strong, omnipotent and noble by its clemency and forgiveness if necessary,” he said in a statement issued Thursday by  the Department of National Defense.

Mr. Gaïd Salah, who had chaired a working meeting on the occasion and had previously followed a general presentation on the general situation in the Region by the Commander of the military Region, as well as presentations by the commanders of the operational sectors and the various security services, stressed the vital importance of the 6th Military Region and the effective role of its units located along the border strip in securing the country against all scourges and threats.

He also recalled that the most cherished wish of the ANP and for the realization of which it works on the ground in the service of its nation and fellow citizens, is to “see them live in a climate of security and quietude”, urging the executives of the Region to continue to achieve more results on the ground, so that these assessments are “the rewarding gift that they will never stop offering to Algeria, its land and its people”.

“The most cherished wish of the ANP Army and whose realization it is working to achieve on the ground, for the benefit of its nation and its fellow citizens, is to see them live in a climate of security and tranquility, so persevere in achieving these remarkable results, so that these reports will be the invaluable gift that you will never stop offering to Algeria, its land and its people, or as the language you master and through which you speak to your people and which will enable you to consolidate the “Army-Nation” bond, whose foundation is the trust between the people and their Army, and the permanent motto is the support and anchoring of this precious asset,” he further underscored.

The Chief of Staff of the ANP also visited the National Cadet School, where he gave an orientation speech, followed by all the Cadets from the ten schools located on the national territory, and during which he recalled the crucial importance that the ANP High Command attaches to “equal opportunities” for all children in Algeria, throughout the national territory.

“It is worth recalling today, on this honorable occasion, that the High Command of the ANP ensures, in the light of the orientations of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, that all human resources are gathered, including teaching materials in order to make the National Cadet Schools a real fertile breeding ground that trains the promising leaders of tomorrow, whose slogan is to combine the assimilation of knowledge in all scientific fields with the impregnation of the national values of our Glorious Revolution of Liberation, which yesterday founded the Cadet Schools of the Revolution,” Mr Gaid Salah declared.

“To this end, I call on all those concerned in the field of training and education, which has so far achieved brilliant results, to contribute, each within the framework of its prerogatives and within its field of competence, to achieving the expected objectives.

“As such, I encourage all to persevere on this healthy path of knowledge, in order to meet the challenge of efficient teaching and useful and beneficial training, reinforced by noble values and rigorous discipline, so as to make it the pride of the National People’s Army and a model to follow for all young hopeful Algerians,” he added.

Mr. Gaïd Salah also stressed that “the ambition of the ANP is to strengthen the foundations of its strength by relying on the efforts and minds of its children is an ambition without limits”.

“You must know that the ambition of the ANP, worthy heir to the National Liberation Army (ALN), is to guarantee, permanently and constantly, a promising future for you. A future that we want to be correct, judicious and beneficial for the ANP and Algeria, and in line with the path of your ancestors among the generations of the glorious Chouhada or Martyrs  and brave Mudjahideen. This brave pioneering generation to whom history has dedicated annals of glory, and immortalized their great deeds and acts of bravery, so that their noble values can testify to the greatness of their approach and their itenerary,” he also said.

“These are the high principles and great values for which we are working today, so that you may preserve them, be proud of them and transmit them to your children and future generations, and these are the noble objectives that we are aiming for, sparing no effort within our education and training system, for Algeria which gave birth to a Glorious Revolution, and which duly celebrated on February 18th, the National Chahid or Martyr’s Day, which represents for the Algerian people one of the great symbols of self-denial and sacrifice, remembers through this celebration the achievements of our lofty Chouhada or Martyrs, and considers that they deserve from their people today and forever all the recognition and gratitude, and the perpetuity of their glories and sacrifices in the collective memory of the Algerian Nation,” Mr Gaid Salah finally underlined.

He then gave the floor to the cadets in attendance, who expressed their great pride in belonging to this national pioneering training system.
