“The convoy includes about 280 people,” Sabah Al Mokhtari told Echorouk.

“The convoy seeks to reach Gaza as soon as possible. Because of that, I hope that people help them to take some rest in some towns,” he added.

He also said everyone there is happy to offer such humanitarian aid and is thankful to Algeria’s efforts and the Popular Committee in Support of Palestine.

The committee has been in contact with convoy since it left the UK. Regular meetings are being held at Echorouk’s headquarter to deal with ways at the aim of facilitating its mission.

-
Their members presented a set of proposals including a delegation from the committee to be sent to Algeria’s western and eastern borders to receive the convoy.

They are also suggested the idea of organising solidarity hours under the form of a “popular trial” of the Jewish state. Algerian human rights activist along with those in the convoy would attend the meetings under the supervision of George Galloway.
