Aigle Azur opens Marseille to Algiers air route

Aigle Azur, the French airline of Go Fast Group will open Marseilles to Algiers air route at a cost of 14,000 DZ for a round-trip ticket, according to its Chief Executive Officer.

• “Marseille to Algiers air route will be opened on October 26 and Lyon to Bejaia on October 28th 2008,” Meziane Idjerouidène told Echorouk on Sunday.

• “Aigle Azur’s annual market share has reached 45 percent  in Algeria. This is thanks to a “citizenship and community policy,” as put  Idjerouidène.
• “The company must show lots of flexibility and should work in accordance with holiday makers’ requirements,” he added.  
• The number of Algerian born holiday making travellers went up between June and September to 310,000 with 20,000 new seats.

• Aigle Azur’s Chief Executive Officer believes that the option of promotional price for a year long must not be considered as a simple evolution but a real revolution one.   
• He stressed the importance of the Algerian market for the airline saying that a subsidiary company can be created in Algeria. “It can be possible if the current regulation is amended.”
• Foreign companies are not allowed to exploit domestic air routes in Algeria.
