Air Algerie aircrafts under test by European Union
CEO of Algeria’s airline Air Algerie assigned a cell to follow up the treatment of hindrances and problems posed by the European Union. November 5th and March 31st 2011 will be important deadlines to avoid the EU’s decisions on banning any aircrafts in its space for non conformity to the required standards.

The CEO’s assistant Ait Abdelmalek Sofiane told Echorouk employees in charge of making reports about gas emissions are working to delivering the reports before March 31st 2011. This deadline was set by the International Civil Aviation Organization upon a request from the EU.

Boualam Annad, an official at Air Algerie said about 14 aircrafts of the airline underwent a technical test in European airports in the last few months. “A total of 23 aircrafts out of 31 are exploited on international lines. Nine aircrafts will undergo a similar test when they land on any international airport,” he added.

He also said efforts focus on reducing difference in existing insufficiencies. “This is made in coordination with the Civil Aviation Department. European observers did not find any problem nor did they find any defect in Air Algerie aircrafts in July-August.”

The EU set the date of November 5th as deadline for Air Algerie to meet standards about goods transportation, air safety and aviations. The deadline is very important as all the aircrafts which do not respect the standards will be banned in the European air domain. Inspectors have inspected all the aircrafts when landed on the EU countries’ airports since 2009.
