Air Algerie is ready to transport 1,000 fans to Luanda, says CEO
Air Algerie is ready to airlift 1,000 Algerian fans for the African Cup’s semi-final match in Luanda, CEO said Monday.
- “Air Algerie will not be involved in the transportation process but it will do its roles only,” Ouahid Bouabdellah told Echorouk on the phone.
The national airline plans to work with the Bank of Algeria to extend exchange procedures time in favour of the fans. “It depends on the fans’ desire to go to Banguela for the match.”
Algeria will play the African semi-final match against the winner in the Egypt-Cameroun match.
The CEO said a technical study of the terminal of Banguela’s airport shows that big aircrafts can not land on it. “Because of that, we have to organise an airlift from Algeria to Angola on Wednesday or Thursday. We will coordinate with the agencies in charge of flights.”
He added that Air Algerie prefers to do its job only because organisation process must be done by touristy agencies. “They have to sign agreements with land transport operators in order to take the fans from Luanda’s airport to Banguela.”
He also said four 250-passenger planes per flight will take the fans to Angola.
