Air Algérie retreats from opening Algiers-Valencia line

Air Algérie stopped negotiations with the Spanish party, which is represented by the company “Iberia Airlines”, on launching flights between Algiers and the city of Valencia, capital of the province “Communitat Valenciana” which includes the largest number of Algerian community living in Spain, representing about 33000 Algerians, at the time Air Algérie aims to expand its fleet after the government authorized it to do so.
Echorouk obtained the document of the representative of the company “Iberia” in the city of Valencia, in charge of negotiating the opening line, which is the travel agency ” Levante”, which was expected to be in charge of the booking operations in Spain on the beginning of February, 1st, 2013, containing a halt of negotiations between the Spanish Iberia airlines and Air Algérie, to launch a new flight between the capital and Valencia, at a time the agency receives hundreds of requests to book on board of this line, noting that the negotiations were realized with the participation of Algerian community in Spain, and it was agreed on everything before it freezing the negotiations abruptly.
In context, the president of the Association, the “House of Algeria “Casa Argelia” in Valencia, Houria Souhaili, told Echorouk, that the negotiations were going well, and it was agreed to launch important cuts and privileges for travelers across this line, but the freeze came from the Algerian side for unknown reasons until now.
Souhaili asked the Algerian authorities at all levels, to find a solution to this issue and enable the Algerian community in Valencia to benefit from one flight weekly at least, noting that the province “Communitat Valenciana” includes the largest Algerian community residing in Spain with more than 33000 residents.
