Al Jazeera Sport announces World Cup coverage costs
Al Jazeera Sport has won the exclusive rights to broadcast the FIFA 2010 World Cup in the Arab world, it was reported on Wednesday.

Al Jazeera has allocated five channels, including an English and French one, to cover the World Cup starting on June 11, Nasser Ghanim al Khelaifi, the general manager of Aljazeera Sport channel said.
To subscribe to the five channels, existing subscribers of Al Jazeera Sport will have to buy a card worth $100 while new subscribers can take out a six month deal for $130.
The rates are uniform through out the GCC and other Arab countries, Nasser Al Khelaifi added.

It should be noted that Al Jazeera sport will focus its coverage on the Algerian national football squad as it is the sole Arab team which qualified for the 2010 World cup tournament to be hosted by South Africa starting from next June.

Al Jazeera sport will be reporting profusely and at length on the evolution of the Algerian Fennecs’ preparatory training camps in Switzerland and Germany later this month and will also broadcast live Algeria’s two scheduled friendly international matches versus Ireland on May 28th and versus the United Arab Emirates in early June, according to the Aljazeera sport channel General Manager.
