Al Jazeera Sports plans to procure rights to broadcast matches of Algerian championship

Echorouk sources close to Al Jazeera Sports said this latter is interested in broadcasting matches of the Algerian championship, from next season because they are important for Algerian and Arab communities abroad, as they are keen to follow the phases of Algerian championship, as well as news of local and international players, who showed good performance on many occasions, thing which allowed them to play in large European clubs, such as Abdelmalek Ziayawho, who makes joys of Saudi Arabia football club El Ittihad (Jeddah) and other names that attract attention of the largest Arab clubs, like the Algerian team’s and ESSetif goalkeeper Fawzi Chaouchi and his team mate Lezhare Hadj Issa. 

• Echorouk sources said Al Jazeera is preparing concrete proposals for the Algeria Football Federation in order to reach a formal agreement to enable viewers of the Qatari channel to follow phases of the Algerian championship, as was the case in the past few years when ART bought rights to broadcast it, and sold more TV cards, however; Al Jazeera officlas, said our sources, plans to set some conditions before the process of buying TV rights.
• Echorouk sources also said that Al Jazeera Sports would ask the AFF to lift the exclusivity monopolized by the Algerian television on the championship matches, thing that would open the way to broadcast any match or matches that are important to it including large derby matches that usually brings numbers of viewers. The condition would block negotiations to reach this goal.
• Echorouk sources add that Al Jazeera Sports officials are afraid of the problem of programming in the Algerian championship, as they fear postponements and cancellation of matches, as well as anarchical programming in terms of time at the last moments.
• At the financial level, Echorouk sources asserted that the channel expressed its readiness to pay one million dollars for the deal, however; Algerian authorities in return should respect all the terms of the contract and provide all facilities to serve the viewer, who is always demanding positive services and guarantees.
