The Algerian government has announced a set of emergency measures to be implemented by all sectors including by the 48 governorships in an attempt to root out the scourge of bureaucracy and to ease administrative procedures for the benefit of the citizens.

This came in the wake of an exhaustive report expounded by the minister in charge of the reform of the public service, Mohamed El Ghazi, on the basis of a series of inspection visits he paid recently to numerous administrative facilities where he was informed about the lingering bureaucratic hurdles and other red-tape constraints facing the helpless citizens.

The Minister told Echorouk that these remedial measures were strong signals from the government which is intent on upgrading the administrative sector at all levels through a better reception of the citizens, better amenities in the relevant facilities and a speedy processing of the various files submitted daily by the citizens thanks to an all-out generalization of the computer tool

Mr Mohamed El Ghazi pointed out to this effect that the administrative employees should be dutiful and imbued with the spirit of rigour and professionalism in the fulfillment in their daily mission at the service of the citizens.
