Algeria / 2 terrorist groups claim responsibility for the same attack

The terrorist group calling itself “the Protectors of Salafist Preaching” under the command of Mohamed Ben Salim alias “Salim El Afghani” has claimed responsibility for an attack perpetrated late last month in Boumedfaâ in the western province of Ain Defla which caused the death of a Gendarme.

• The Gendarme’s Kalashnikov weapon was taken away by the terrorists during the criminal attack.

• However, the salafist group for preaching and combat – GSPC- led by “Abdelmalek Droudkel” also claimed responsibility for several attacks including that of Boumedfaâ attributing it to “Katibat El Ahoual”, on its propaganda website.

• This reflects, according to analysts, the glaring weakness of the terrorist groups under “Droudkel” after the heavy blows dealt to them by the forces of the National Popular Army and the sustained combing operations carried out in numerous regions of the country with much success.
