Algeria: 250.000 liters of gas oil vanish into thin air
Over 250.000 liters of refined oil products have reportedly disappeared in murky circumstances from a trading unit in the Kharrouba zone of the Naftal Company in central Algiers.
- The still unexplained disappearance of this big quantity of gas oil occurred during last weekend and the trade union representative got in touch with the relevant authorities to unravel the intricacies of this somber affair.
- An investigation is underway to find out if this huge quantity of gas oil has been stolen with the complicity of certain workers of the trading unit of Kharouba as the apparent robbery happened over the week end during which most of the workers were not on duty.
- The investigators are said to explore a case of bribery involving certain venal workers on duty during the week end.
- The latter are suspected of having received money in exchange for the stolen gas oil which was taken out of the Kharouba trading unit belonging to Naftal on board several Lorries probably during the night or very early in the morning.
