Algeria: 280 Billion Dinars Allotted By The State To Spur Housing Sector

The National Housing Fund has earmarked a financial package amounting to 280 billion dinars as part of the state’s assistance for the construction of all types of new housing units for the benefit of the needy Algerian citizens in various parts of the country.

The General Manager of the National Housing Fund told Echorouk that such a substantial financial package had been allotted to all those concerned over just a period of 9 months.

This move is evidence of the state’s declared commitment to boosting the vital housing sector on account of the lingering and acute housing crisis still besetting large sections of the Algerian population, he stressed.

He added that in addition to the construction of new flats in the country’s big urban centers in the first place, the relevant authorities are also keen to promote rural housing through a set of incentive financial measures for all those citizens willing to settle down in the country’s rural zones with the acquisition of newly-built houses.

He further brought into focus the recent statement made to the national press by the housing Minister, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who pledged to do away with all red – tape and bureaucratic hurdles in the processing of all the application files submitted by eligible citizens to the relevant administrative bodies in charge of the housing file.
