Algeria : 79 major oil companies took part in international tender

International bid for tenders Saturday supervised by Algerian Energy and Mines Mnister Chakib Khellil to explore oil blocks saw the participation of 79 international companies from all continents.

• Major oil and gas companies took part in this operation including; GAZPROM, EXON MOBIL, CHEVRON, GAS NATURAL, ANADARKO, SHELL, GAZ DE FRANCE, STATEOIL, PETRONAS, and HYDRO.
• According to Chakib Khellil, Algeria made major discoveries over the last few years estimated at 15 new discoveries to July 15 in comparison to 20 during the last year and 18 in 2006; These breakthroughs made of Algeria one of the major countries worldwide.
