Algeria: Agriculture Ministry suspends Vets strikes
Algerian Agriculture Minister Said Berkat.
Algerian Agriculture Ministry informed different provincial departments that vets’ strike was suspended on May 31, the first day of their strike.

The ministry indicated that the strike which had started, 5 days ago is not legal and they are called to resume work.

Vets in public administration are set to continue their strike until June 6 while meat markets have not recorded any shortage.

Dozens of tons of consumption products are packaged in containers in ports and airports as there is no medical control especially on milk powder, babies’ milk, medicines and vaccines.

If the administration does not force the vets to resume work by law during the next two days, the strike will finish Friday pending to decide in the demands of the vets’ union.
