Algeria: Al-Qaeda looses 15 terrorists, 21 hideouts in Boumerdes
The Algerian army has tightened the noise on terrorists in Boumerdes.

Security situation in Boumerdes province (50 km east of Algiers) witnesses an unprecedented escalation as security forces tightened the noise on Al-Qaeda’s strongholds in Algeria. The so-called Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb is carrying out a new campaign to recruit new support elements from the area especially that it lost a large number of its members including eminent leaders and founders.

Recent security operations in Boumerdes have had a violent impact on the terrorist organisation. A total of 17 terrorists were killed while their strongholds have been surrounded for months.

The security operations also led to the arrest of the most dangerous terrorists including Mohamed Tadjer alias Jacques and Hafid Farouk who are known for their terrorist attacks on residents and security forces. Around 21 hideouts in the provinces’ forests have been destroyed and a huge amount of equipments, weapons and bombs were recovered.

Four terror support cells have been dismantled and around 32 suspects were arrested. Security roadblocks have gone up to 17 new ones while 14 roads have been blocked as they are close to sensitive security areas.Due to these hard blows, Al-Qaeda has been focusing on recruiting new elements as recent figures show that 17 young men have been missing for the last two months in Boumerdes. Most of them disappeared after security forces had started searching for them as they discovered support links between them and terrorists.
