Algeria, Angola pledge to give fresh impetus to cooperation ties during Luanda encounter

Angola's Oil minister, Desiderio Costa, said the stability in Angola and Algeria provide propitious environment for the re-launch of bilateral co-operation in the areas of oil, transport, fisheries, commerce, agriculture, tourism and hotel infrastructures.

Desiderio Costa made the statement at the opening of the third session of the joint commission for economic, scientific, technical and cultural co-operation between the two countries that will analyse the strategies for bilateral interchange.

Under the relations between the two countries, attention will be focused on private and public firms-related co-operation, and use it as a stimulating factor for the boosting of cooperation ties.

“The Angolan authorities are ready to study and debate procedures that lead us to the setting up of business partnerships which enable the presence of our economic operators in our markets”, said the minister.

The two governments, he said, should create conditions which facilitate the promotion of participation of business leaders from the two countries in a bid to foster a genuine entrepreneurial technical co-operation, both at the level of joint-ventures and direct investment.

The relationship between both countries date back to the beginning of the struggles for the liberation of the African continent and has been strengthened ever since, through synergies that contributed to the independence of both states, the Angolan oil  minister pointed out.

The Algerian delegation, present in Luanda , was led by energy and mines Minister Chakib Khelil.
