Algeria : angry demonstrators kill hotel’s owner

The week end’s tragic events that jolted the town of Sidi Aissa; M’Sila left three dead including the hotel “Djebel naka” owner and 60 wounded from the rioters as well as some 15 arrests.

• The events go back, according to witnesses, to last Wednesday, while citizens finished the burial ceremony of a man smashed by the hotel’s owner under suspicious circumstances, and succumbed to his wounds two weeks after in a hospital here in Algiers.
• Soon after the burial, scores of citizens including the victim’s relatives left the cemetery in the direction of the hotel, located at the town’s main entrance, amid high tension and anger.
• Sources revealed that a number of demonstrators were killed and others wounded by bullets coming out from the hotel.
• The hotels owner was lynched by the angry crowd and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
